WSSC Policies

Policies describe the method the elected executive for a particular year does things. They do not include all the details and they are not necessarily carved in stone. Also these policies are not part of the constitution or by-laws.

Suggestions and Complaints

If you have an issue with club related items or activities, please forward them in writing to the president or vice-president. Unsigned complaints will be ignored.

Free Membership for 2012

In 2012, WSSC will offer one year of free membership for divers who join for the first time. Hopefully, these divers will rejoin WSSC as paid members in future years.

WSSC Booking and Cancellation Policy

In order to meet the needs of our club members, the dive coordinators have devised a booking and cancellation policy. Please look it over before booking any dives so that you are aware of the contents of the policy. Any questions or concerns should be directed to our executive, thank-you and happy diving!

  1. PAID club MEMBERS have priority access to all charters. Bookings are ONLY open to PAID club MEMBERS up until 6 weeks prior to the dive.
  2. Bookings will be open to anyone if the charter is not full by 6 weeks prior to the dive.
  3. A deposit no less than 50% of the total charter price is required at time of booking. If the booking is made within 6 weeks prior to the dive, 100% of the total charter price is required at the time of booking.
  4. The balance of the total charter price must be paid by 6 weeks prior to the dive. NOTE: We will accept multiple installment payments and personal cheques.
  5. Appropriate waivers and documentation must be completed by all participants. Last minute “walk-on” bookings will not be accepted.
  6. Cancelled bookings will only be refunded in:
    1. The order of cancellation to the dive coordinator (first cancel, first serve) AND;
    2. The event that the newly vacated spot is filled by another booking.
  7. Non-divers or “bubble watchers” will be allowed on board dive boats if:
    1. The non diving participant pays for their booking in full just the same as another diver OR;
    2. If non divers are allowed on board by the captain, charter operator, Divemaster, Dive Coordinator AND any additional cost is paid by the non diver.
